The travel begins in the island of Mallorca.From Palma we go to the north-east coast, a quite natural area where the villages stay in the mountains (and some of them have a little harbor), there are nice bays, small beaches.At Valdemossa this village is famous for the stay of George Sand and Frederic Chopin.In Binissalem, a area with vineyards, the people celebrate the "Vermar", the feast of the grape harvest, there is a great banquet in the streets of the village (vermicelli soup with mutton meat)..Then we arrive at Palma or Palma de Mallorca , the capital of the Balearic Islands:A great gothic cathedral, the famous Gaudi participated in the construction of some inner parts.Then we go to Soller , a region with olive trees.At the seaside there is an important national park (with many birds): this part of the coast is full of high cliffs (400 meters) along 20 kilometers.Then we arrive at Pollença: near there is the Serra de Tramuntana with the Puig Major (1.445 meters above sea level), a military zone. Pollença , after the reconquest this place are been rebuild by Templars. Second stop: the island of Menorca with the main town Mahon, we see some pictures of a feast of the Giants then a feast of the riders, we travel inside the island and reach the second town of Menorca, Ciutadella de Menorca and more in the south of the island very nice bays and beaches: the site has been declared biosphere reserve. Third stop: the island of Ibiza: the old medieval town has been declared patrimony of the humanity by the UNESCO.Of course Ibiza is known by the arrival of the hippies in the sixties and still an important places for entertainment.But there are also nice natural places : no great mountains, only forests and agricultural fields, nice beaches. Last stop Formentera : the main town is Santt Francesc: No airport, the people arrive at Formentera by ferries.Only hills (no high mountain), in the inland people grow fig-trees, at the seaside fishermen get fishes.Formentera is also a nice place for diving with its coral reefs.
